Well, this is the very beautiful and pristine Hougenot valley of Franschoek; wine growing region of the Cape. There are three basic wine growing regions in the Cape: Franschoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl. All the green you see are vineyards. This valley houses the winery L’Omarins (la crème de la crème). There are others, of course, tiny little ones (Rickety Bridge is one), but L’Omarins produces the best. Their wines are available in the US. Check the website for ‘The Fairest Cape’, a South African wine importer in Los Angeles who will be able to sell you a crate or two of L’Omarins’ Carb Sauvignon. If he does not have what you want, he can always order some for you. He is a (very) good man, and an excellent vintner
